ACALYPHA WILKESIANA 'LOUISIANA RED'
Acalypha wilkesiana "Louisiana Red," is an ornamental plant that brings exotic flair and vibrant color to your garden or outdoor space. Explore its unique characteristics and its role in landscaping.
These succulent shrubs, deriving their genus name from the Arabic word 'aden,' may have been named after the port of Aden on the Arabian Gulf. The Desert Rose sheds its leaves during the dry season, unless the soil is partially moist. Adenium naturally protects itself from water scarcity by shedding its foliage, similar to Frangipani. However, in our latitudes, rainwater is more than sufficient. Desert Roses are perfect plants for the climate of the northern Caribbean Islands.
Colors and shapes are highly varied, so we recommend contacting us to choose your plant before ordering.

The trumpet-shaped flowers, ranging in color, are 4 to 5 cm in length and bloom throughout the year. The flowers can fall in case of excessive humidity; the swollen trunk cannot withstand excess water and may rot. For potted cultivation, do not place a saucer under the pottery; the water needs to drain. The warmest and sunniest spot in your garden will be suitable for your Desert Rose.
Adenium has the shape of a bonsai with slow growth. It can be placed in locations exposed to sea spray.
